New Mexico is the" Land of Enchantment" and also the "Land Of Energy". The energy resources in New Mexico including biomass fuels, coal, electricity, geothermal, natural gas, oil, solar, uranium and wind are extracted, generated, produced and then researched, transmitted and utilized within the state of New Mexico.
From passive solar designs of the ancient pueblo dwellings, to advance research in two Department of Energy Research Laboratories, from the oil in the Permian Basin to natural gas in the San Juan Basin, from coal mines near the Bisti Badlands to uranium mines near Mount Taylor , from geothermal resources in the Rocky Mountains and wind resources on the Great Plains, from Four Corners Electrical Power Plants to dairy farms bio-mass, and with a sun that shines brightly over the entire state, these diverse resources have a significant environmental, economic and social impact on the inhabitants of New Mexico .
The New Mexico Association of Energy Engineers chapter invites you to join us on our journey as we gain knowledge into the application, creation, design and efficient utilization of these energy resources.
